Senior Platform Engineer
Jetpacks! is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our LatAm team and support a partner building a modern Internal Developer Platform (IDP) to power their engineering organization. In this role, you will treat the platform as a product, designing and delivering a seamless, self-service experience that enables engineers to deploy, monitor, and manage services with minimal friction. You will also play a key role in defining and implementing a multi-tool observability strategy, ensuring full visibility across applications and infrastructure from day one.

Jetpacks! is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our LatAm team and support a partner building a modern Internal Developer Platform to power their engineering organization.

In this role, you will treat the platform as a product, designing and delivering a seamless, self-service experience that enables engineers to deploy, monitor, and manage services with minimal friction. You will also play a key role in defining and implementing a multi-tool observability strategy, ensuring full visibility across applications and infrastructure from day one.

Role Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain a scalable Internal Developer Platform that abstracts infrastructure complexity for engineering teams.
  • Design and implement a unified observability framework leveraging New Relic, Datadog, and Grafana.
  • Lead the evolution of the Kubernetes ecosystem, including cluster lifecycle management, networking (service mesh), and security.
  • Define and implement “Golden Paths”, standardized patterns for deployment, service discovery, and configuration with built-in observability.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code libraries to standardize provisioning and automate dashboards and alerts.
  • Integrate observability, compliance, and cost governance into the platform in collaboration with SRE and Security teams.
  • Support cloud-native architecture design and system migrations.
  • Contribute to CI/CD system design and optimization.
  • Enable developer productivity by improving platform usability, reliability, and automation.
How will you be supported

You'll be onboarded to the tech team organization. You will be part of a team and will communicate with them via Slack and Google Meet. Periodic 1-on-1 meetings will be held to ensure you are successful and have a productive and enjoyable experience.

Role Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Expert-level experience with Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or AKS).
  • Strong hands-on experience with observability tools, including:
    • New Relic (APM, distributed tracing, synthetics)
    • Datadog (infrastructure monitoring, logs, cloud security)
    • Grafana LGTM stack (Loki, Mimir, Tempo)
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane.
  • Experience with GitOps methodologies and tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Proven experience building and scaling CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI).
  • Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or Rust for building internal tooling.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
  • Availability to commit to an initial three-month engagement, with strong potential for extension.
  • Advanced English level.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or implementing developer portals such as Backstage.
  • Knowledge of OpenTelemetry (OTel) for instrumentation and telemetry pipelines.
  • Experience optimizing and managing multi-vendor observability costs.
  • Familiarity with Secrets Management (e.g., HashiCorp Vault) and Identity Management (OIDC/IAM).
